Dominion is a 2-4 player deckbuilding board game. It came out in 2008 and is a game that harbors an endless amount of fun no matter how much you play! Dominion does an amazing job of being entertaining even for those who typically aren't gamers. This makes it a phenomenal choice for anyone looking to try out a new board game!
In Dominion you are trying to expand your kingdom into a Dominion! But you are not the only monarch wanting to expand their kingdom, you will have to fight to claim the vacant land. Each player starts the game with 10 cards (3 victory and 7 currency) in their deck, then draws 5 at the beginning of their turn. Each turn you will play an action (if you can and want to), then buy cards from the card pool with currency in your hand, and finally, clean up by discarding your hand, cards you played, and cards you bought that turn into your discard pile, then draw 5 new cards from your deck. The game ends when either all of the 6 point victory cards have been purchased, or when 3 of any of the other piles are empty. You win by having the most victory points.
Overall, Dominion is a fantastic game for anyone new or experienced with board games and has great replayability. There are also many expansions for anyone that wants to add even more variance to the game! I highly recommend this game to anyone that is trying to get someone that typically doesn't like board games into them.
